🧠 THE SCIENCE
Pareidolia & Fusiform Face Area: Humans have an innate evolutionary tuning to identify faces. This tendency is so strong that we identify facial structures in completely random patterns (a phenomenon called pareidolia).
In this tree, the negative spaces between branches and the curves of the trunk are sculpted to mimic human profiles. When your brain processes the organic lines of the tree, it triggers the Fusiform Face Area (FFA), highlighting the faces in your consciousness.
